Welcoming Dr Matt Ash as Co-Founder and CTO

I’m thrilled to share some exciting news! Supersense Technologies is proud to announce that Dr. Matt Ash has joined our team as Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Matt brings extensive experience in medical device development and a shared passion for user-centered design, and is poised to make a significant impact in developing technology that supports people in living longer in the comfort of their own homes.

Matt and I have known each other for a long time. We were in the same research group at UCL and have a shared background in using radar sensors to measure and understand the world around us. On completion of our PhDs, over the following 10 years, we’ve followed different paths: me as a scientist into the Ministry Of Defence then latterly into organisational leadership, and Matt as a medical device and RF expert developing life-changing medical device products. Throughout this time we’ve stayed close and worked together, most recently in training for and competing in a very chilly Cambridge Half Marathon in March 2023!

Matt brings particular passion and insight for working with people living with dementia – stay tuned for a future blog on this! I’m particularly excited to work with Matt to build our community of people living with dementia, get a first-hand understanding of the problems, and seek insight and guidance from the community as we develop our solution. Our values are well aligned; first and foremost, our approach is to design solutions with users, rather than for them.

Matt’s arrival comes at a pivotal time for Supersense Technologies. We are thrilled to announce that we have been accepted into the  Accelerate Cambridge scheme, run by the University of Cambridge Judge Business School. We’re privileged to be part of an inspiring cohort of fellow entrepreneurs and have already had some great mentoring sessions that have both challenged and enhanced our thinking.

At Supersense Technologies, we believe that lived experiences are invaluable in shaping our understanding and developing meaningful solutions. We invite all those who have cared for their loved ones to follow our journey, and share their experiences with us. Your support and perspective will help us create technology that truly meets the needs of caregivers and their loved ones. We want to hear your stories, challenges, and ideas.
